Data Privacy Statement
1) Physical Security Your information is stored on Beckman Coulter servers located in the United States. The facility is accessible only to authorized personnel and is protected by such security features as guards, cameras, and limited access locks. This facility is manned 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. We use procedural and technical safeguards to protect your personal information against loss or theft as well as unauthorized access and disclosure to protect your privacy, including encryption, "firewalls" and Secure Socket Layers. The domain is continually scanned with the latest in virus protection. 2) User Authentication Beckman Coulter, Inc. requires that all users of AutoPrimer.Com have a user name and password prior to using this application. The password and user name can be any combination of alphanumeric characters, however, for your data security we recommend that the user id be your email address, and your password contain at least one letter and number. Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is used for authenticating your user name and password, which means that your user name and password can only be "unlocked" by using an encryption key. This key is also used to encrypt and decrypt data every time you send information to Beckman Coulter, Inc. 3) Data Transmission After AutoPrimer.Com has authenticated your user name and password, it creates a "secure session" with our data center using 128-bit key encryption. This is the same level of security that banking institutions use to transmit financial information. VeriSign Corporation issued this certificate only after we met their rigorous criteria for identification, which included registration of our corporation with Dun & Bradstreet. VeriSign can verify this certification by clicking on the gold VeriSign seal located on the AutoPrimer.com web site. FAQ's are available at: http://www.verisign.com/products/site/faq/128-bit.html. Each session is timed out after 5 hours of inactivity to prevent unauthorized access. 4)Data Storage Beckman Coulter, Inc collects certain forms of information through standard Web logs for the purpose of site management. Of the information we learn about you from your visit to "www.AutoPrimer.Com" we store only the following: ˇ User information such as username, password, and other account information. ˇ The date and time you use our site. ˇ Primer Designs (optional) This information is used to maintain security of the site and to help make the site more useful to customers. Unless it is specifically stated otherwise, no additional information will be collected about you. Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, no attempt is made to identify individual users or usage patterns. We do not give, share, sell or transfer any personal information to a third party. We give the users an option to catalog the primers that they design on AutoPrimer.com. To activate this option the user must give consent. This option can be turned off at any time, and past stored results can be removed. If you choose not to catalog your primers, we keep no record of your designs, or original submitted sequences. If the AutoPrimer administrator activates the catalog option, once the server authenticates the user, access to the cataloged files are granted only to the user that created them. Individual catalog resources can be granted to only one user, and are totally private.
